About the Tournament & Host School
The Chinmaya Vidyalaya Chess Tournament is designed for school students across Delhi NCR. In a rarely seen open format, it is a combination of individual participation and award for the school that is most represented in terms of number of players. While there are no team matches, team trophies will be awarded to the school from which a minimum of four entries are recorded. To qualify for the Team Trophy, at least four students should participate from a school, but there is no upper limit. Individual glory will also make the institution proud.
The tournament operates on a single-pool format - no age or gender categories. Every participant competes on equal footing. That means a Grade 3 student could beat a Grade 12 player, and that is exactly the kind of talent this format is meant to unearth.
The Chinmaya Vidyalaya Chess Tournament is hosted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi and professionally organized with FIDE-compliant rules and fair play standards.
Chinmaya Vidyalaya is a leading educational institution committed to holistic development. The school fosters excellence in academics, co-curriculars, and sports, and encourages students to build sharp minds and strong character through every opportunity, including mind sports like chess.
